Kachiko's Kiss

  • May resolve any number of times per game for either player. However, the first effect can only happen once per game and will not try to happen a second time, even if negated. [BC, 10 August 2008]

Kage (Experienced 3)

  • "Requirements" covers all requirements and restrictions, such as "Will not/will only join X Clan." [15 July 1999]

Kage Sensei

  • Kolat Personalities acquire your Faction's keyword. This applies continually to all Kolat Personalities you control and in your deck, provinces, and discard piles; a card that changes controllers or loses Kolat may gain or lose your alignment. [Reversal]

Kaiu Endo

  • If the Fortification is moved (e.g., with Kaiu Suman), Endo flips the Dynasty card in the province where the Fortification is currently, per card text. [Reversal, BC, 22 August 2008]

Kaiu Fortress

  • Ability may be used any number of times per turn. [Erratum, Lotus Edition rulebook, 31 October 2005]

Kaiu Shiro

  • Reads, "Kaiu Shiro 8PS 4G 3FH Your Hero Personalities have Yu +1 and a minimum Yu of 3. Once per phase, after another player’s action resolved which destroyed one of your Personalities: Destroy a target Follower, or a target Personality without Followers, with Force less than or equal to your Personality’s Yu value controlled by another player; if during a battle, the target must be in the enemy army." [Erratum, CF, 09 February 2007]

Kaiu Suman

  • May be used to bring into play The Kaiu Walls Region appearing in a Province that already has a Region if you move it to one that does not. [DW, 06 November 1996]

Kakita

  • The winner of the duel draws one card, not the same amount as he focused. [Erratum, Lotus Edition rulebook, 31 October 2005]

Kakita Atoshi

  • Bowing is a cost of his ability. [ZF, 29 November 2002]

Kakita Ichiro

  • You may not take his extra lobby attempt first and your one normal attempt second.

Kamoto

  • Name changed to Yoritomo Kamoto.

Kanashimi

  • Should read, "After a player draws a card outside his End Phase due to his own card or Stronghold effect." [Erratum, 1 August 2003, Diamond Edition rulebook]

Kanbe

  • Name changed to Yoritomo Kanbe.

Kaneka

  • If a player chooses to bow two units when his second ability is used, the other units to be bowed instead must be in the same army as the targeted unit. [Erratum, JA, 11 May 2004]

Kaneka's Blockade

  • The dicarded cards must come from the top of the Fate deck. [JA, 18 March 2002]

Kappa

  • Its trait imposes maximums of 0 and 1 to its Force and Chi respectively. [DW, 13 January 1998; Clarified, BC, 22 August 2008]

Kappuksu (Experienced Goblin Warmonger)

  • Has the Nonhuman keyword. [Erratum to MRP, Pearl Edition]

Kharmic Strike

  • Misspelled as "Karmic Strike" in Soul of the Empire.

Kisada's Funeral

  • Adds additional conditions to winning an Honor Victory, rather than making players unable to achieve it.

Kitsuki Yasu

  • Does not make challenges "unrefusable." Rather, he forces personalities to accept. Thus, he beats cards that allow refusing unrefusable duels (e.g., Enlightened Tutor, Kuro Sensei). [Reversal, JA 18 July 2000]

Kitsune

  • Has the Creature keyword. [Erratum, JA, 27 October 2000]

Know the Enemy

  • May negate the ability of any Action card with a Battle action on it, even if the Battle action was not used. [JA, email, 22 March 2002]

Koichi

  • His first ability functions identically to Togashi Teijo's. [JA, 19 May 1998 and 22 September 2000; Clarified, BC, 22 August 2008]

Kuni Josuke

  • First keyword should read, "Crab Clan". [Erratum, 10 April 2008]

Kuni Yori (Experienced 2)

  • Tokens created by his ability also have the Shadowlands trait. [Erratum]

Kuni Yori (Experienced 3)

  • Ability ignores the Honor Requirement of the returned Personality. [Erratum, JA, 28 March 2000]

Kuroiban Compound

  • While it's a Personality, it will return to play even if destroyed, because its final, delayed effect will trigger when it enters the discard pile. [ZF, 10 October 2006]
  • Is a new Personality each time its ability is used. [ZF, 14 October 2006] Effects that only affect Personalities end when it no longer is one (i.e. gaining a Faction alignment). [CF, 23 February 2007] Effects on the card when it is a Personality do not reapply when it becomes a Personality again. [ZF, 1 March 2007]

Kuro Sensei

  • A cost for refusals is not a "penalty." If you refuse a challenge with a cost for refusal, you must lose honor and dishonor your Personality even if you successfully paid the cost. [JA, 1 November 2002]

Kuroshin's Prayer

  • The retrieved card is placed in your province face up. [ZF, 11 June 2000]

Kuni Wastelands

  • The two cost reductions are not cumulative. [DW, 19 November 1996]

Kyuden Bayushi

  • First line should read, "You must have two different Winds." [Erratum, JA, 1 December 2004]

Kyuden Ikoma

  • Reads, "Kyuden Ikoma 7PS 3GP 6FH Reaction: Bow your Stronghold and one of your Lion Clan Personalities in the current battle to cancel another player's Battle action. If it's an Action card, its player may return it to his hand after the battle. The player may immediately take another action." [Erratum, JA, 1 March 2004]

Kyuden Kitsune

  • The restriction on Kyuden Kitsune only applies to Personalities with the base "Mantis Clan" keyword. [Reversal, BC, May 30 2008]
  • Cost reduction applies to "Fox" and "Fox Clan" cards (i.e. Fox Nagamaki or Kitsune Diro, but not Foxwife). [JA, netnews, 31 August 2001; Clarified, BC, 10 August 2008]

Kyuden Kyotei

  • Its Clan alignment is to the Crane Clan. [Erratum, 7 February 2008]
  • Reads, "Kyuden Kyotei 6PS 4G 6FH Your Market holdings in and out of play have the Legacy keyword. Political Reaction: Even if this Stronghold is bowed, if you control the Imperial Favor, before a Fate card out of play turns face-up from an action, trait, duel, or from being discarded: Give the card +1 Focus Value when it turns face-up." [Errata, 4 September 2008; effective 1 October 2008]
  • The Reaction can not be used when playing an Action card, an attachment, taking an action on a face-down Ring or other card in the hand, because turning face-up is a rulebook effect, not an effect of the action itself.

Kyuden Otomo

  • If a Wind is removed, and the same Wind by title is brought into play from outside the game on a later turn, it is considered a new copy of the card, unaffected by anything that previously affected the earlier Wind with the same title. [ML, 15 June 2005]
  • Favor tokens on the Stronghold are not interchangeable with Favor tokens generated by other cards; in a broader sense, cards that discard Favor tokens as a cost of their abilities must discard their own. [JA, 13 September 2005; Clarified, BC, 10 August 2008]

Kyudo

  • The second Ranged Attack allowed is a re-use of the first, waiving costs and number of use restrictions. No other ability need be present. [BC, 10 August 2008]
  • Will allow two uses of the ability on Jade Arrow or Crystal Arrow from a single copy of the card. [Reversal, BC, 10 August 2008]
