Faction (alignment)

The terms "Faction" and "Clan" are generally interchangeable when used by themselves or preceding the word "alignment". In Legacy format, both refer to the seventeen factions on the Legacy Factions list.

Family Name

A family name is the first (or only) name in a Personality's title, denoting his relation to other Personalities with the same name. However, not all titles are family names. Below is an exhaustive list of all family names, as well as every Faction alignment possessed by at least one member of that family:

Fealty

When a card "swears fealty" to a player, it permanently gains the player’s Faction alignment. A trait prohibiting a Personality from "swearing fealty" negates the effects on him of any card with "Fealty" in the title, mentions "fealty" as one of its effects, or that gives him a Faction alignment.
